Looking back it 's all a blur. Those first shop rides, wondering if anyone would turn up and then making up routes as we went along. The shop barely stocked, these days it has all overflowed to our bike store room we have so much!
So where are we now? We have two well attended weekly rides and the foundations of a cycling club with special Pewsey Velo kit on it's way (these things take time, I can assure you).
We have established dealerships with Fondriest, Roux, Dawes and Raleigh. We have De Rosa bikes arriving any day now as I write this.
We have had a very busy summer season in the workshop with me working well into the night far too often. I even slept there one night when I was due to lead a ride the next morning. Sincere apologies if you had to wait too long for your service. It took us all by surprise just how much demand there would be.
We have a full range of clothing from Pearl Izumi and Lusso, with helmets from Lazer.
We have a smart TV which enables us to show Eurosport live and re-live the classics on You Tube.
We have a lovely hifi so the music's always on.
We had a well attended launch party (how many people can you cram into a small space?!)
The coffee machine's been overworked.
We've had great help from Jesse and now James.
I have a new bunch of great mates!
We've had the Tour of Britain go right past the shop.
We've been in the Gazette and Herald (lots).
We have our first sponsored athlete in Jaco Van Gass (please google him)
Hopefully we've added something to Pewsey. Made it even more special.
I still have no idea about how you run a business. But I do know a hell of a lot about cycling. Let me share it with you.
